A balanced language development programme. You will work on all areas of language: vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking and pronunciation, with exam preparation as appropriate.
Specific content depends on the level, needs and interests of the students in each class. Your teacher will assess and discuss this with you at the start of the course.
Course structure:
Classes typically have 18-20 students. Students may work in groups, in pairs or individually and need to complete course work outside the class. There is an emphasis on student participation in activities, both inside and outside the class.
Course resources:
You will have access to the Learning Centre. This includes the use of computers, audio-visual equipment and our language laboratory.

Continuous assessment of coursework.

For students who want to improve communication in an English speaking business environment. In addition to state inspection processes, EIS courses are accredited by The British Council through the English in Britain Accreditation Scheme.
Students study language typically used in business situations, both formal and informal, with emphasis on vocabulary, terminology and Exam preparation as appropriate. Specific content depends on the needs and interests of the students in each class; teachers assess and discuss this at the start of each course.

Course content:
Designed for students who want to progress to education and training, probably in the UK, particularly to university, both first degree and postgraduate, and for students working towards professional registration.
EIS courses are accredited by The British Council through the English in Britain Accreditation Scheme.
Includes English in an academic context, with practice of the key language skills of reading, writing, listening & speaking; Academic skills in English including intensive reading, note-taking, summary and academic presentation; and IELTS preparation.

You need to demonstrate a commitment to a potential 4 years of study, one for this course and then 2-3 years for your HND, Foundation Degree or Degree course. You must convince us that you are prepared to work hard and be ready for university. We will consider your academic background and/or previous experience, and the personal profile/statement you write on your application. You should show evidence of motivation and determination. If you are in the UK we will interview you.
Course content:
International Students (non-EU) students who do not have an English language background and who want to progress on to a UK Degree, Foundation Degree or Higher National Diploma course, but who need extra qualifications to meet admissions requirements. The course is based on the college's ACCESS to higher education programme, but it also has specific English and Study Skills. You will develop your knowledge in your chosen subject area, improve your English and get an introduction to living and studying in the UK.
This course includes Business and English language skills for International students aiming to go on to study Business at a university or higher education college in the UK. It covers:
- English Language - preparation for IELTS
- General language - grammar and vocabulary, and essential skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking

ACCESS (TRAC Certificate) for Business Studies - continuous assessment (essays, exams, assignments and presentations).
